The Behavioral Health Consultants (BHCs) are fully licensed Professional Counselors and/or Masters of Social Work in the State of Michigan, and at least one is available in all Alcona Health Center sites, including Alcona Elementary School, Alcona Middle/Senior High School and Lincoln Elementary School in Alpena. The BHCs are able to provide counseling and therapy to all ages, and also to individuals and families. The BHC works collaboratively with your PCP to provide you with seamless integrated treatment to work toward successful resolution of the issues you are facing, and to help you improve your quality of life. The BHCs will work with you to develop personal goals that you would like to see accomplished. These goals may be accomplished through any of the following, and maybe in combination of two or more: Individual Counseling, Group Counseling, Couples Counseling, or Family Counseling. We also have Psychiatric Services available on-site at our Lincoln clinic, or telepsychiatry available in several of our clinics, with the goal of having it available at all AHC clinics in the future.

Health Disparities Data Widget Now Available
The Office of Disease Prevention and Health Promotion (ODPHP) and the Office of Minority Health (OMH) are pleased to announce the release of a new health disparities data widget. The widget provides an easy way to find health disparities data related to the Healthy People 2020 objectives for the Leading Health Indicators (LHIs). LHIs are critical health issues that when addressed will help reduce the leading causes of death and preventable illnesses. The widget provides charts and graphs of disparities data at your fingertips.
It’s easy to embed the widget on your own website to give your networks easy access to the latest available disparities data. Once you’ve added the widget, there’s no technical maintenance required. The content will update automatically.
