Alcona Health Center
About the Program
The MyMichigan Midland Family Medicine Residency Program – Alcona Health Center Campus allows for an opportunity to truly experience the realities of practicing in a rural setting. For a period of two years, residents split their time between seeing patients at Alcona Health Center in Ossineke and rotations at the newly remodeled MyMichigan Medical Center Alpena. The Family Medicine Residency Program launched with Alcona Health Center in June of 2022. Residents interact with a wide range of patients from newborns to geriatrics and from a diverse socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds. Fairly unique to the area is an Amish community who accesses care at the health center.
