Our team of professionals will work with you to establish and manage your health goals and assist you in achieving your best possible health! Acute Care Clinic Hours –

Alcona Health Center is now offering “Acute Care” at their Alpena Services facility on US 23 North. This new “Acute Care” clinic is an alternative service that is being offered in place of walk-in services that have been discontinued due to COVID-19. “Acute Care” clinic hours will be offered Monday through Saturday for those who do not have an emergency but need to be seen the same or next day due to illness or injury. In person and telehealth options will both be available. This service is open to all. You do not need to be an established Alcona Health Center patient to access the “Acute Care” clinic hours.

Alcona Health Center asks that you please phone (989) 356-4049 to set up an appointment time for this “Acute Care” service prior to coming into the building. With patient safety in mind, those who are coming to the clinic with an illness will now enter via the “Acute Care” entrance at the north end of the building.

Rhianna Compton, LMSW is a Behavioral Health Therapist. Ms. Compton graduated in 2019 from Michigan State University with a Masters Degree in Social Work. Her professional area of interest is child and adolescent therapy. She is a member of the National Association of Social Workers.

James Counsellor, LPC

James Counsellor, LPC is a Behavioral Health Therapist. He received his Master's of Arts in Counseling Psychology from Antioch New England Graduate School. His professional specialty/special interests include Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, behavioral medicine, and health psychology. Mr. Counsellor is a Board Certified Clinical Mental Health Counselor and a member of the EMDR International Association. Recovery Services Team Member.

Monica Dziesinski, PAC

Monica Dziesinski, PAC practices Family Medicine. She completed her Master's degree from Central Michigan University in 2013 and has always held a professional interest in pediatrics. In addition to being a Physician's Assistant, she also holds radiology and cat scan licenses RT(R)(CT).

Sarah Hainstock, FNP-C is a Nurse Practitioner. She studied at the University of Michigan (Flint), earning a Master's of Science in Nursing. Ms. Hainstock practices family medicine and has prior training and experience in the areas of lactation counseling, women's health, and newborn care. She is currently a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and the Michigan Council of Nurse Practitioners. Recovery Services Team Member.

Sean Kane, FNP-C

Sean Kane, FNP-C is a Family Nurse Practitioner practicing family medicine. Mr. Kane earned degrees from Davenport University and Ferris State University. He specializes in pulmonology and is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) and American Association for Respiratory Care (AARC).

Vicki Konczak-Miltz, LPC CAADC

Vicki Konczak-Miltz, LPC CAADC, NCC, CCS-DP, is a Behavioral Health and Substance Abuse Therapist. She earned her Master's of Arts in Counseling from Spring Arbor University. Vicki has obtained CAADC- Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor and is part of our Medication Assisted Treatment Program at AHC. Her professional interests include substance use disorder and trauma. Recovery Services Team Member.

Joy Newhouse, PMHNP, is a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. She is a graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi where she earned her BSN prior to completing her MSN from Walden University. In addition to seeing patients in person, Ms. Newhouse will also be offering some telehealth services.

Renee Smolinski, LLMSW is a behavioral health therapist. She studied at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio earning a Masters of Public Health (MPH) and Masters of Social Work (MSSA/MSW). Ms. Smolinski also holds a certificate in Nonprofit Management (CNM).

Sarah Stevens, PA-C is a Physician's Assistant who practices family medicine. She earned a Bachelor's of Science in Health Science at Grand Valley State University before going on to achieve her Master's Degree at Central Michigan University in 2008. Adrienne Westphal, DO

Dr. Adrienne Westphal specializes in Psychiatry. She obtained her Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences from Central Michigan University prior to advancing to Michigan State University where she earned her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Westphal completed both a General Psychiatry Residency (Michigan State University) and a Child & Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship (Michigan State University). She is currently a member of the American Psychiatric Association, and the American Academy of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry
