About this Location
The school based behavioral health program is operated by Alcona Health Center in partnership with Alpena Public Schools. With parental/guardian permission, our licensed behavioral health professionals can provide therapy conveniently located within your child’s school. This allows for ease of access, fewer disruptions of regular routines and less loss of class time. Commercial insurance and Medicaid plans are accepted and we offer an income based sliding fee program. New patients are welcome.

Behavioral Health - 31N ProgramStacie Papineau, LLMSW is a Behavioral Health Therapist. She studied at Spring Arbor University, earning her Master of Social Work. Stacie will be assisting young children as a school-based 31N therapist in collaboration with Alpena Public Schools.
Ellen Zempel, LMSW
Behavioral Health - 31N ProgramEllen Zempel, LMSW graduated from Michigan State University with a Master of Clinical Social Work. Areas of professional interests and strengths include Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Play Therapy, child development and children and family issues. Ms. Zempel will be assisting the young children at Ella White Elementary School in Alpena as a school-based therapist in collaboration with Alpena Public Schools.
