About this Location
The school based behavioral health program is operated by Alcona Health Center in partnership with Alpena Public Schools. With parental/guardian permission, our licensed behavioral health professionals can provide therapy conveniently located within your child’s school. This allows for ease of access, fewer disruptions of regular routines and less loss of class time. Commercial insurance and Medicaid plans are accepted and we offer an income based sliding fee program. New patients are welcome.
Becky Lahner, LMSW31 N Grant Participant
Becky Lahner, LMSW will be assisting the young children at Besser Elementary school in Alpena as a school-based 31 N therapist in collaboration with Alpena Public Schools.
Stacie Papineau, LLMSW31 N Grant Participant
Stacie Papineau, LLMSW is a Behavioral Health Therapist. She studied at Spring Arbor University, earning her Master of Social Work. Stacie will be assisting young children as a school-based 31N therapist in collaboration with Alpena Public Schools.
Renee Smolinski, LLMSW
Renee Smolinski, LLMSW is a behavioral health therapist. She studied at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio earning a Masters of Public Health (MPH) and Masters of Social Work (MSSA/MSW). Ms. Smolinski also holds a certificate in Nonprofit Management (CNM).

This health center receives Health and Human Services (HHS) funding and has Federal Public Health Service (PHS) deemed status with respect to certain health or health related claims, including medical/dental/behavioral health malpractice claims, for itself and its covered individuals.
