Alcona Health Center is proudly celebrating 45 years of providing quality healthcare for Northern Michigan!
Over four decades ago, a group of concerned citizens came together to address the lack of healthcare in Alcona County. Through their vision and hard work, Alcona Citizens for Health, Inc. dba Alcona Health Center became a reality. Our first Federally Qualified Health Center location opened in Lincoln Michigan in 1978, serving as the only means to access healthcare in the entire county. The need for comprehensive quality, healthcare was identified in neighboring communities and this prompted expansion of additional services and more locations.
Fast forward 45 years, and Alcona Health Center (AHC) now offers 36 healthcare access points (clinics and within schools) in six counties in northern Michigan – Alcona, Alpena, Cheboygan, Chippewa, Emmet and Iosco. AHC has expanded services beyond primary care, to offer behavioral health, dental, pharmacy and recovery services. Additionally, AHC is the umbrella agency for the Children’s Advocacy Center of Northeast Michigan.
In 2022 alone, AHC provided care for over 33,500 unique patients at 135,141 patient visits. From pediatrics to geriatrics and everyone in between, Alcona Health Center has been caring for families for generations… And we plan to be here for generations to come!
AHC’s leadership and staff are proud of the high quality, comprehensive healthcare that we provide to the residents of northern Michigan regardless of their ability to pay. We are excited to share this monumental anniversary with you – our patients, community members and collaborating partners! Community members are eligible to sign up for the random drawings, once per day beginning the first day of Summer, June 21st through Labor Day, September 4th, 2023. Contest Rules –
45 Prizes for 45 Years contest is a random drawing with draw dates of – July 10, July 31, August 14, and September 5, 2023. Entry period runs from June 21st through September 4th. You do not need to be a patient to win. This contest is open to all with the exception of current Alcona Citizen’s for Health, Inc. (Alcona Health Center) employees. Entries are accepted up to once daily, per person. Duplicate entries under the same name and date will be discarded. You are only eligible to win one prize per person for the entire contest period of June 21 through the last drawing date of September 5th. Should a name be drawn more than once, only the first prize drawn for will be the prize awarded. Information on the registration form will only be used for the purposes of this contest. Winners must pick up their prize at the Alcona Health Center location that they have selected on the registration form. Winner’s first names, last initials and pick up site selected will be published on the website and Facebook unless expressly requested that we do not do so. Good luck!
