As part of this approach, we offer Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT), access to a Peer Recovery Coach, substance use counseling, care management services, and medical evaluations to address physical health needs.

Like a tree drawing strength from its roots, we’ll stand beside you to rebuild, grow, and thrive—stronger than ever.

Recovery Services

Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) is an evidence-based practice that combines pharmacological interventions with substance use disorder counseling and other specialized services that enhance one’s recovery process. Although not for everyone, it is an essential part of the comprehensive array of services available to people struggling with addiction to alcohol or other drugs.
AHC Recovery Services Promotes a Holistic Approach to Recovery. AHC Recovery Services offers a whole-patient approach to treatment, focused on individualized care and integrated behavioral and physical healthcare services. Recovery Services encompass an individual’s whole self, including mind, body, spirit, and community.

Alcona Health Center has two Peer Recovery Coaches. A Peer Recovery Coach is a person with lived experience of recovery from substance use or mental health challenges who is trained to support others on their recovery journey. They are a key part of many recovery services programs, offering guidance, encouragement, and practical support. Key roles of a Peer Recovery Coach include support and mentorship, navigating needed resources, setting goals and motivating, advocacy and crisis support.
