Ellen Zempel is a Licensed Master Social Worker, who earned her Master’s in Clinical Social Work from Michigan State University.
Areas of professional interests and strengths include Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Play Therapy, child development and children and family issues. Ms. Zempel will be assisting the young children at Ella White Elementary School in Alpena as a school-based therapist in collaboration with Alpena Public Schools.
Patients are welcome that range in age from 5 years old to 12 years old. With a certification in Targeting Resources and Increasing Learning Opportunities in Schools (TRAILS), therapies provided include Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Mindfulness, Solution Focused, Play Therapy, Behavioral Group Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.
