Welcome to our Indian River location page! Alcona Health Center’s Patient Centered Medical Home model of care means that we are your partner in healthcare. Our team of professionals will work with you to establish and manage your health goals and assist you in achieving your best possible health! We strive to provide quality healthcare and excellent customer service. Special appointment times for higher risk patients –
As part of our COVID-19 response plan, we have set aside special appointment times for the elderly or those with certain medical conditions that may make them higher risk for getting complications if they get COVID-19 or another virus. Please let the receptionist or scheduler know if you have: Asthma, Chronic Kidney Disease with Dialysis, Diabetes, a serious heart condition, a blood disorder or if you are immunocompromised or over 65 years old.
John Everett, DO
Dr. John Everett has been practicing medicine in Indian River since 1989. He studied at Michigan State University and College of Osteopathic Medicine, earning the degree of Doctor of Osteopathy. His professional interests include, family medicine, pediatrics, geriatrics, sports medicine, wilderness medicine and medical missions. Dr. Everett is a Past President of Osteopathic Association and has been recognized as a National Rural Health Physician of the Year. New patients are welcome.
Amy Klein, LMSW CAADC
Amy Klein, LMSW, CAADC is a Behavioral Health Therapist. A 2007 graduate of Western Michigan University, she holds a Master's Degree in Social Work and is a Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CAADC). Her professional interests include the areas of trauma, family dynamics, and addiction. New patients are being welcomed at both our Cheboygan and Indian River locations.
John “Dave” Wallace, PA-C
John "Dave" Wallace, PA-C is a 2012 graduate of Central Michigan University. He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Bio Medical Science, and a Master's Degree in Physician Assistant Studies. In addition to practicing family medicine, Mr. Wallace is also certified in MAT/Substance Use Disorder treatment and offers DOT physicals.

Outpatient/walk-in lab services provided by Quest is available Monday - Thursday from 7:30 a.m. -12:45 p.m. and, 1:45 p.m. - 4:15 p.m. Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. and 1:45 pm to 3:00 p.m.
