We are looking for a highly motivated, resourceful, and talented individual to join our team as Clinical Supervisor (CMA, RMA, LPN, or RN) (A20-081) for our Harbor Springs, Pellston, and Petoskey Child Health Associates locations . This is a full-time (40 hours/ week) position with your home location in Harbor Springs.

General Summary:

Directs the day-to-day activities of the non-provider clinical staff under the direction of the Site Manager.

Overview of Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Provides supervision to departmental staff:
    1. Assigns duties to employees and provides daily guidance and supervision.
      1. Ensures staff schedules are completed monthly and sufficient coverage is provided for patient safety.
    2. Remains competent in all non-provider clinical staff skills and competencies.
    3. Provides and/or ensures employees receive instruction/training needed to successfully complete their assigned job responsibilities.
    4. Ensures that employees are aware of, and adhere to, appropriate company policies and procedures.
    5. Monitors employee performance, providing mentoring/guidance to assist in employee development.
    6. Provides input into the maintenance and upkeep of departmental job descriptions.
    7. Reviews employee assignments and provides specific instructions on completion of tasks/responsibilities.
    8. Prepares and conducts performance appraisals for immediate staff:
      1. Completes performance appraisal documentation
      2. Meets with employees to review documentation and provide feedback
  • Develops and monitors employee development plans as needed
  1. Participates in hiring, disciplinary, and termination procedures:
    1. Interviews candidates and makes recommendations to management and Human Resources
    2. Discusses and monitors disciplinary action with troubled employees
  • Follows through on proper termination procedures when employee dismissal is imminent
  1. Directs the day-to-day activities of the non-provider clinical staff:
    1. Conducts monthly MSS site meetings.
    2. Acts as a Super User for the Electronic Health Record.
    3. Maintains the sites vaccine inventory per Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and Vaccines for Children (VFC) guidelines for both private and VFC stock.
    4. Ensures all MSS have complete and current clinical competencies (updated every 2 years).
    5. Maintains all appropriate documentation of tracking (referral, test results, abnormal test result follow-up), clinical checklists, clinical quality measure report working, and clinical logs.
    6. Enforces that MSS comply with organizational guidelines, such as Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH) and National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA).
    7. Plans and organizes orientations, in-service trainings, guidance programs, and educational programs for MSS.
    8. Oversees calibration of medical equipment; performs equipment maintenance checks and reports equipment status; informs manager of equipment malfunctions.
    9. Completes inventory, orders and stores clinical supplies.
    10. Performs non-provider clinical staff duties as needed to ensure patient safety.

Required Certification and/or Licensures:

  1. Possesses a current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) CPR
  2. Maintains Medical Assistant Certification/Registration, Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse Licenses.
  3. Possesses a current State of Michigan driver’s license and current automobile insurance
