Your Role:
Our ideal candidate will have the ability to cover multiple jobs, as this Clerical Support Staff position has additional tasks assigned above the usual duties. This clerical support staff will perform clerical duties as well as medical support staff duties. This position requires open communication with the school staff as well as participation with school activities.

Here’s What You Will Need:
Applicants for this particular position must have the ability to effectively communicate in written and verbal form. We are seeking a reliable and hard-working candidate that can work both independently and as a productive member of a team. Strong attention to detail is essential. Strong customer service skills to ensure friendly and courteous communication with staff and patients. Must be able to multitask and switch between duties quickly. Most days can include 3 or more tasks within the same work shift. Punctuality is a must as well as the ability to work alone and as a team member, must be a certified or registered medical assistant.

Here’s Some of What You Will Do:
In our Practice Management System you will perform front office duties (collecting past and current balances due, checking in/out patients, answering billing questions, reports, among other tasks), scheduling (making and confirming appointments), greeting patients. This position would also be responsible for prepping patients for exams, taking accurate vitals, reviewing medications, administering injections, and providing assistance during procedures.

Qualifications:
Must have strong customer service skills, written and verbal communication skills, strong organizational and problem-solving skills. Computer, mathematical, and rational thinking skills. Good attendance, dependability and punctuality is a must. Must possess current CMA or RMA certification.

What you will need:
Strong organizational skills, and attention to detail. The ability to work independently and as part of a team. Knowledge of dental procedures and terms, or the ability to quickly learn this information. Excellent communication skills, being courteous and friendly to patients.

Some of what you will do:
Prepare operatories for dental procedures according to safety and infection control guidelines
Working with the dentist on procedures; positioning instruments for dentist’s access, suctioning, and passing instruments.
Take and record medical and dental histories, and vital signs of a patient.
Expose diagnostic dental x-rays.
Take impressions, and pour study casts.
Instruct patients on oral hygiene and post-operative recommendations as prescribed the dentist.
Schedule patient appointments.
Answer phones, scan documents, verify insurance information.

Qualifications:
Requires work-related skills at a higher level than completion of high school, including written and verbal communications skills, computational and computer skills, mathematical, technical or health care related knowledge frequently acquired through the completion of a trade school, para-professional, or certificate type program. Requires specific knowledge and training in dental assisting, typically acquired during completion of a certificate program with duration of up to a year, duties can be learned in training or on the job.
