Alcona Health Center is currently recruiting for a part time Switchboard Operator. This position is based at our Lincoln, MI facility and would be scheduled 20 hours a week, Monday-Friday.

Our ideal candidate would need to have excellent communication skills, proper phone etiquette, and adaptability to learn our software and multi-line switchboard.  They would also possess strong organizational skills, computer skills, and knowledge of medical procedures and terms, or the ability to quickly learn this information. Experience is preferred but we are willing to train the right candidate!

Qualifications:

Requires work-related skills at a level of completion of high school diploma or GED. Candidates with computer skills, mathematical, technical or health care related knowledge acquired through the completion of a trade school, para-professional program, or certificate type program are preferred.

  • Develop, maintain, and monitor the progress of comprehensive individualized care plans for patients in need of care management, including following up with physician/patient/family follow up, communicating with hospitals, and reconciling medications.
  • Identify process issues and helps develop and maintain efficient care management processes in collaboration with others as appropriate.
  • Motivational interviewing and teaching of self-management skills to help patients meet their health goals.
  • Educating staff on care management to recruit new patients to care management.
  • Support the Patient Centered Medical Home model by communicating with the care team.

Qualifications:  To be qualified for this position, you must possess a diploma from an accredited nursing program. Only Registered Nurses with current State of Michigan licensure will be considered.  Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) CPR certification should be up to date and you must possess a current driver’s license and automobile insurance.

 Alcona Health Center has a full time opening for a Medical Support Float.  This 40 hour per week position will be based at our Lincoln office but will require travel to our Harrisville, Oscoda, and Tiger Extension locations.

 Our ideal candidate will have the ability to learn and cover multiple jobs. These jobs will include medical support staff coverage for the Providers, Lab, Tele-psych, Medication Refill, Prior Authorization, Doctor to Doctor and Diagnostic Referrals. Regular duties will also include preparing patients for exams, reviewing medications, administering immunizations and injections, providing assistance during procedures, doing draw bloods, communicating results and answering patient questions.  Successful candidate will be detail oriented and have strong communication and a drive to provide quality, compassionate care.

 Qualifications: To be considered for this position, you must possess certificate or diploma from an accredited nursing or Medical Assistant program. Current State Medical Assistant Certification/Registration or current State of Michigan RN or LPN license is required. Primary Care Physician – MD or DO


Alcona Health Center is currently recruiting for physician to join our Patient Centered Medical Home approach to quality care at our Oscoda, MI facility. We are seeking a MD or DO with a minimum of two years of experience to practice full service primary care with a solid team of clinicians. This is a Monday – Friday outpatient setting, with an “after hours” phone only call rotation.  Scheduling of a 4 or 5 day work week is flexible and negotiable.

Requirements:

Behavioral Health Therapist – Oscoda, MI


Alcona Health Center is currently recruiting a full time Behavioral Health Therapist to join our professional team in using a Patient Centered Medical Home approach to providing quality care. This position will be based in our Oscoda, MI clinic four days per week and work within Oscoda schools one day per week. Successful candidates should be comfortable in an independent setting and have a minimum of one to three years of experience in trauma focused therapy. Other job requirements include a familiarity with DSM-5, and a knowledge of electronic medical records and behavioral health billing. Must be a Licensed Master Social Worker, Licensed Professional Counselor, or PsyD to be considered for this position.
